Nous sommes arrivés
We've arrived! And it's hot! At Chileka Airport, near Blantyre So far, all is friendly and the country seemingly has a very slow pace - people are just standing or sitting around looking as though they are doing very little except enjoying each other's company or waiting patiently to sell their wares. I think our lives here will be great all in all but B cried when the reality hit home and she saw her new home. Then L cried because B was crying. I spoke to 2 of the other mothers tonight at dinner at the Headmaster's house and they said that their girls had cried too. There are 11 new teachers and most of them have children which is great - it makes for a really happy atmosphere! When we got to Johannesburg this morning it was sunny but cold - just 3 degrees. Then we got to Blantyre and it was 27!! It was hot but bearable. Both South Africa and Malawi are experiencing their winters but at vastly different temperatures!
